California allows employees who do not have sufficient time outside of working hours to take time off to vote.
Will I lose pay if I take time off to vote?
Not necessarily.
Employers are required to compensate employees for up to two hours (but no more).
Important to Note:
You may be given as much time as necessary to vote
Your employer may require time off to be taken only at the beginning or end of the employee's shift
If you are aware in advance that you will need time off to vote, you must inform your employer two working days prior to the election
